You usually associate stripes with go faster ath-leisure or pin stripe suit. This Topshop skirt nailed it for me in translating them into a wearable statement skirt. I say wearable because it’s bold lines teams well with loads of solid colors, especially black and white for all over monochrome. I went with yellow because I like how a warm yellow pairs with the coolness of monochrome, they sort of off set each other? You can see how I styled this striped maxi skirt two ways for now
Wow – I am still talking about this damn gold skirt! Check my snapchat to see more on it (karenbritchick) but basically it goes like this: I’m going towards my local train station and spot a young woman selling some clothes on a laid out blanket on the pavement. Amongst her pile I see the flash of metallic gold and she pulls it out for me to look at. “It’s a Halston skirt” she says, showing me the Halson label. I have no idea if it really is or not but it does

Try Illestava or Topshop I reckon that denim skirts are a good way to wear denim in summer without cooking in jeans. Most of mine are below the knee but this works for when it’s over eighty degrees. Plus I couldn’t find a vintage version (stand back in amazement) so caved on this high street
Dress: Vintage (I think). Lookalikes from Asos, Misguided and Cusp. Sandals: Mango. Bag: Valentino (code: PR3NXT for 30% off) or try Hobo. Sunglasses: LoveDay31 vintage. Try Topshop. If I wear heels (not often) I get borderline obsessed with wearing them with socks. Jacket: Adidas. Skirt: Zara. Try Asos. Shoes: Coach. Bag: Valentino. Try Marc by Marc Jacobs. Socks: Topshop. Pearl earring: Zara. Try Rebecca Minkoff Socks and heels are one way to get around the whole strappy heel thing if you don't like showing your feet. That alone I like. I mentioned on Instagram that people either love it or they don't. It's a style divider but you are well sorted when it's
Every year, without fail, layering is a key look for fall, whether you live in perennially sunny LA or on the East Coast where there are actually four seasons. No reason to avoid faffy pinks and frothy skirts when you've got a jacket and trainers to dumb it down. Sequin t-shirt + skirt: Hells Kitchen Flea Market. Trainers: Adidas Stan Smith. Jacket: Zara (part of a suit). Bag: Kurt Geiger The skirt and sequin top are from the Hells Kitchen vintage flea market recently.
