Photos via: Collage Vintage | Vogue SpainWe spotted not one, but two street style stars wearing a Metallica band tee this past fashion month. Both shots feature the unexpected vintage top in contrasting ways. One is a more elevated take with a classic pinstripe blazer and black d-ring pants, while the other is more casual with the tee layered over a metallic mock neck top and jeans.Get the look:+ Topshop Bouclé Boyfriend Blazer+ Vintage Metallica 1987 Concert Shirt+ Mango Belt Straight-Fit
For everyone who asks me about the best vintage shops in New York, check my city guide that I wrote for you and then get your butt to Anna Corinna’s boutique in Williamsburg. It’s wall to wall badass styling and schooling on how to wear vintage clothes or just leave with one piece. Your bloody welcome! ps. I’m still obsessed with the lions head bucket belt found there (on Instagram). Anna Corinna. 377 Metropolitan Avenue, Williamsburg Brooklyn. SOURCE: Where Did U Get That -
Over time I’ve talked about my favorite vintage shops, but here they are in one blog post. These are the places that I take friends to and they are the places that I shop the most for vintage and thrift. Keep this information and use it as your New York shopping city guide the next time that you are here. Urban Jungle Location: 120 Knickerbocker Avenue, Brooklyn NY 11237 Oh my God. To this day I kick myself for not finding this place sooner. This is a giant Aladin’s cave of

Having previously lamented about the lack of summer in the UK (although it’s turning up right about now), I thought I’d roll back time to when I was in the Tuscan hills, taking in the spiritual home of Emilio Pucci. It’s rare that I get to go see the roots of Italian powerhouses unlike their French counterparts. Either they’re remote stable secrets or they’re not open to the likes of me. Pucci, though being part of the LVMH Group was a participant of the “Les Journées Particulières”

Resee is a word that is part of the working vocabulary of fashion weeks, referring to the less glamorous portion in-between shows, when you go and literally “resee” a collection in a showroom. If you were late for the show or couldn’t make it for some reason, then it’s often a see-see rather a resee. The word is therefore automatically associated with work. During Paris Fashion Week though, I discovered a different side to the word through a new-ish vintage site Resee.com. Do we need another
Vintage is one of my favourite things. Not only is it great for the planet, it’s quite often cheaper than chain stores and best of all it means you’ll be wearing something no one else will be. So the fact that one of my dearest friends is launching a carefully curated vintage store has me pretty darn excited! One Moment will be launching online very soon, but if you’re in Sydney you can get a first look at the amazing pieces at a Pop-Up store in Chippendale. Get there tomorrow

So I’m back to the velvet underground Back to the floor that I love To a room with some lace and paper flowers Back to the gypsy that I was, to the gypsy that I was It wasn’t a reference cited by Kate and Laura Mulleavy but as their gossamer-thin shimmying and shining frocks (and yes, these really are frocks as opposed to merely dresses…) walked amongst their neon tube jungle, all I could hear in my head were these words of Stevie Nicks. And Nicks’ particular mix of
I often wonder about the concept of “forever” clothes. What are the things in my wardrobe that will stand the test of time and be considered to have cultural (and perhaps monetary) worth and be thought of as valuable further down the line when no doubt, should I have children, they’ll probably want to get rid of my dusty mountain of clothes. A Mariano Fortuny “Delphos” gown is most definitely a forever piece. Unlike other designers of his era, this one pivotal
WhatIWore: Recognize this dress? It’s one of my long time favorite vintage pieces! It’s nothing high quality or designer or anything - just a dress that has become a classic in my closet. I originally chopped off a foot or so of length from the hem and I’ve worn it for all seasons. It was actually the photos I linked to in my Younger post that reminded me of wearing it with boots, tights and layered over a turtleneck.
